FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT TOOLS

CasebookPlus™

Our CasebookPlus platform provides formative student self-assessment at the classroom level, giving students the opportunity to test their understanding of the material while they're learning it in class without burdening your faculty. Faculty do not have to change their teaching methods or monitor student self-assessment for students to benefit from all CasebookPlus has to offer.

CasebookPlus is anchored by more than 4,000 multiple-choice, short answer, and essay questions keyed to our most widely adopted casebooks. Excerpts from the Hornbook Series provide helpful explanations while sample answers and expert commentary are provided for short answer and essay questions.

Faculty who wish to view their students' progress and results have access to optional customized reporting and a Quiz Editor that allows them to add, suppress, or time-release quiz questions.

CasebookPlus is available in all 1L and select upper-level subjects and keyed to over 150 casebooks. Your students can buy the CasebookPlus option of their assigned text and utilize these resources on their own or your faculty can choose to adopt the CasebookPlus version of their text. Digital-only options are available to students who rent or purchase a used text.

ONLINE MASTERS AND HYBRID-JD PROGRAMS

If you're building an online masters or hybrid-JD program and want to know how West Academic materials will work with your curriculum, please contact your West Academic Account Manager so we can help determine what's best for you. We are working with our authors to provide new materials and enhance our classics with technology that plays well online, including:

Murphy and Nickles' Unauthorized Practice of Law for Nonlawyers is a foundation offering for legal masters students. It includes video lessons and self-assessment quizzes that can be used on their own for course credit or incorporated into an already-designed course.

Pomeroy and Hague's Business Associations: An Online Course for Masters Students provides video materials for a fully-designed course that can be easily incorporated into an online curriculum.

We have also enhanced our traditional casebooks, such as Merritt and Simmons' widely used Learning Evidence, with video and audio modules that work beautifully as part of an online course. And the formative assessment tools in our CasebookPlus platform provide an easy way for faculty to monitor student engagement and performance even when students aren't coming to campus for class.

We look forward to working with you to ensure our materials deliver what you need for the future.
